A Walk Through Our Woods

This morning I went for a walk through the woods of Camp Hope with my dear old mom and sisters. It was quite lovely. We sure live in a gorgeous place!

Important People in My Life

My Parents:
My Mom and Dad are so very special to me.

Daddy Boy
My Dad is a very quiet man for the most part, we've always called him the saint in our family. He is always sweet and kind. But he also knows what he believes and doesn't back down. He is a hard worker in every area of life, I only hope that one day I can have half as much drive as him yet still be a peace maker.

Mamma Girl
This wonderful lady always has a smile on her face, a constant reminder of how blessed I am. She is full of wisdom and energy, always coming up with new ideas(I get that from her). She is such a blessing in my life, I don't think there is anyone in the world who I have learned more from than her.

 My Grandparents:
Grandpa Jim
This is my mom's dad. I should probably mention that he is putting on a silly face for the picture(a rare scene indeed). The fact that he is in his 80's doesn't stop him for a second from buying property, building houses with his own two hands, keeping his eye on the government and telling everybody what he thinks about it. He is also a very hard worker,  in fact he only just retired last year, I believe, from being an electrician. he is a proud American and comes from an amazing family line of Beechers who changed history. One thing that I have always admired about my grandpa is how well he knows his bible. Each time I visit, I find myself wanting to study my bible more and more.

Grandma Marilyn
If there is anyone on planet earth more sweet and kind than this woman I would have a hard time believing it. Every time we go down to Oregon to visit, I wake up each morning to Grandma Marilyn's whistle floating through the air as she makes breakfast; such a pleasant sound to wake up to. She takes care of their adopted girl, Shauny, who has autism and cerebral palsy, continually making sacrifices to make her life easier. I admire everything about her.

Grandpa George
As he gets older and older, he is forgetting more and more. looking back over the years, I wish I had spent more time with him before. This is my dad's father and in my dad I can see many similarities. Grandpa George grew up in a family of 14 children. Back when he was a teenager, he survived polio, an amazing story actually. Grandpa George accomplished a lot back in his day, he went from school to school getting them accredited, a huge job. Him and Grandma Dorothy have been married for over fifty years, that in itself is an accomplishment. I look up to him for always being so patient.

Grandma Dorothy
Grandma Dorothy is a woman filled with stories. In fact she has binders filled with stories of her life, and they are interesting ones too. She sings and also plays many instruments, does very large puzzles, and makes long journeys quite regularly. Always up for something fun, she is a great person to have around. I admire Granda Dorothy's good spirits about life.

Sleigh Ride

Last night the PLT put on a lovely evening for all of the students to give us a break from studying for finals. There were smores and sleigh rides for all. It was just what we needed. Although I must admit that I got extremely cold on the sleigh ride, probably my own fault though because I kept taking my gloves off to take pictures.

Our Highest Privilege

Believe me, prayer is our highest privilege, our gravest responsibility, and the greatest power God has put into our hands. Prayer, real prayer, is the noblest, the sublimest, the most stupendous act that any creature of God can perform.
It is as Coleridge declared, the very highest energy of which human nature is capable. To pray with all your heart and strength-that is the last, the greatest achievement of the Christian's warfare on earth.
"LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY!"

Choir Christmas Party

After Our Christmas concerts were all over we had a Christmas party to celebrate the end of a semester. There was much loud singing happening around the piano where Mr. Nic Roca sat impressing us all with his incredible talent!

A choir sized game of musical chairs was played as well.
