The Beautiful View

This is the view from where I am staying here at BanglaHope. It is quite interesting to look out and see the busyness in the village all around. It is never quiet here. Whether it is a cow, a pig, a fox, a child, a bird, a security guard whistling, or a drunk man singing on his way home, there is always something. It's quite like living in a zoo at times.

The Banyan Tree

The Hindu's worship this banyan tree that we went to visit. There are huge bats that live inside of it that were flying around while we were there. A few of the kids got a chance to try swinging from it's branches.

Experiencing Bangladesh

Today marks one week of being in Bangladesh, although it seems a lot longer than that already. BanglaHope is so warm and welcoming. This past Sabbath a group of us went into the village surrounding the orphanage to give a Sabbath school lesson to the children there. We walked there and back and visited some of the homes of the people. Bangladesh is an amazing place. I actually was not expecting most of what I have seen here. I am so happy for this experience.

Dubai

Dubai is awesome in every sense of the word. It's kind of like stepping into the future. Everything is huge and incredible and very clean. The streets are even made of shiny tiles that glisten in the night's lights. We were only there on an 8 hour layover but it was well worth it to get out of the airport. This first picture is of the world's tallest building. Every night, on the water you see in front, they have an incredible fountain/light show that we were able to see. The fountains are all lit up and they dance to Arabian music. Quite impressive.

On my birthday, I had the best present ever. My sister Susan and her fiance Anthony had me take their engagement photos. It was my very first time doing and engagement shoot and I couldn't have asked for better subjects!
